Is Memorial Lot a Real Estate Investment?

Updated: Feb 26, 2021

Investment comes in many forms like stocks, bonds, cryptocurrency and real estate. All are good form of investment but with different level of risks. Among the 4 samples of investment that I gave you, investing in stocks has the highest risk and investing in real estate has a medium to low risk. When looking for investment, you have to weigh how much risks can you take to either get your income goal or lose all of it, but if you are not yet brave enough to risk all your hard earned money then you better start in a low-to-medium-risk type of investment. One example of low-to-medium-risk type of investment is Real Estate.

What is Real Estate? Real estate is defined as any land, property, building and air rights above or under ground rights below any land. There are several types of real estate. There is commercial, residential, industrial, raw land and memorial or cemetery. Among the five types of real estate, memorial lot is the most uncommon when it comes to investment. This is because government usually give free burial lot to those who need it so people don't see it as something that you need to prepare for. However, this is no longer the case nowadays because people have made to realized that even for the last moment of their loved ones, they want it be something special. The trend nowadays not only includes the place where you live but also to where will be your final resting place is and what memorial park your family owns. Therefore, investing early on memorial lot not only benefit your investment portfolio but also in preparation of what is sure to come.

As early as 18 years old, many millennials are already into investment and as a millennial myself, I highly recommend to invest in something that is low-risk but with high return investment. My take is to invest in Memorial.

Memorial Lot is a very good investment because it does not need too much attention. Meaning, you don't have to do anything to grow your investment because it naturally increase it's value with time. Your lot value would immediately appreciate especially if you invest in a memorial park company that really value the investment and interest of their clients like Golden Haven Memorial Park Inc.

Memorial, unlike any other type of real estate, does not require you to pay capital gain tax, documentary stamp tax, transfer tax, title registration fee and annual real estate tax that is why it is considered to be the one of the best real estate investment. The developer who owns the memorial park is the one who will be paying those fees and even the maintenance of the park is no longer of your concern, that is if you are invested in no other than Golden Haven.

That's it for today. Check my next article about Memorial Investment.
